How much advertisers lose of fraud clicking on the ads by Botnet
Networks of compromised computers (viruses, Trojans, worms), known as Botnet, without the knowledge of computer users are increasingly involved in clicking on ads like Google AdSense or Yahoo Publisher Network. Such ads bring revenue to the owners of the sites, if you click on them.
Clearly, here is a fraud, and advertisers lose money, spending it on the page authors of malicious software (to assume that Botnet is directed to pages of which has a financial benefit). Of course, a certain part of fraud clicks are detected and the money for them not to be paid.
"Click Forensics" company engaged in the research of the "clicking on the ads" announced the results related to the last two years, where is clearly visible increase (attempts) of fraud by Botnet. In fact, in the first quarter of 2007 percentage of fraud clicks of Botnet was 9%, but this number climbed to over 31% in the last quarter of last year.

YouTube - new music and video market
YouTube announced new business model that will grow revenue in the feature. The service will sell music, films, TV shows, video games, books, concert tickets and other media-related products featured on the millions of videos on YouTube.
Users can buy the media content by clicking the button and using the Amazon mp3 service or Apple iTunes service. Amazon and iTunes will share revenue with YouTube when users buy content through the partnership.
YouTube also intend to experiment with InVideo text advertising on the bottom of the movies and other formats which include contests sponsored by advertisers and home page video ads. The new video ID system will help drive advertising. Video ID enables content owners, such as music and TV producers, to know when copies of their video clips are uploaded to YouTube by users. The content owners can then share in advertising generated around that copied clip. The content owner could also use the video ID system to remove the videos.
YouTube is owned by Google since 2006, (investment of $1.65 billion) and the service in august was visited by 330 million visitors, which means wide internet audience. YouTube from new business model expects 200 million grow revenue in the next year.

Apture - Pop-Up links to your blog
Apture is new tool for bloggers, for adding more content to your blogs. You can add a little pop-ups in places where you link to other sites or media items from around the Web. Apture can either do all this automatically or let you to do the legwork.
It's set up to work with popular sites like Flickr, Amazon, Wikipedia, and Scribd. Any link to one of those sites will simply enable whoever clicks on it to see the entire entry in a small expanding pop-up window that can either stay affixed to the link text or be dragged around the page like a floating widget. The effect is actually pretty neat, and manages to keep your readers on the page, even if you've got a heap of linked items. If you want to manually link up any word or phrase in your post you simply highlight it, and you'll be given a huge list of items from photos, videos, audio clips and text links to choose.
Apture is the feature rich platform that let's you turn flat pages of text into a compelling multimedia experience. It helps you find content, link it into your page, and display it inline - all with one line of code. And it works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.

FeedBurner announces adding AdSense ads in RSS Feeds
FeedBurner announces that this week, they will add Google ads in a few RSS feeds. FeedBurner, as Google owned company that helps bloggers, podcasters, media companies and anyone who pushes content via RSS publish and promote their feed, is going to start putting Google AdSense ads into feeds, and, with that, open more sources for publishers to earn money.
AdSense ads will be available to a limited number of publishers, with a full launch to all FeedBurner and AdSense publishers in "coming soon" version. FeedBurner publishers who meet the AdSense program requirements will be able to use AdSense in their feeds.
On official FeedBurner blog, Steve (FeedBurner weblog - posts author) said:
You'll learn more about the details when we fully launch, but here are the basics: you will need to sign up for AdSense if you haven't already, and you will want to set up your AdSense channels for "placement targeting" in order to make sure that advertisers can target your syndicated content specifically. As a publisher, you will remain be in control of the campaigns that are targeted at your feed by harnessing the power of Ad Review Center.
More details will be available closer to the full launch, but in the meantime, FeedBurner will be contacting specific publishers to try out the new program. I hope that this blog feed will be chosen in that happy and rich RSS bunch :-))).

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for YouTube Videos
YouTube videos are 60% watched in the US. And your YouTube videos can be found in Google's search results like any normal Web page. They can rank number 1 in just days, with the right SEO.
Let's assume you have signed up for your free account at YouTube.com and are ready to upload your first video using their easy to follow instructions. This is all the SEO you need to know:
1. When forming your title, think in terms of "long tail" keywords, meaning keyword phrases of three or more words. Be sure these are in the same order people would search for them (eg/ "long tail keywords" not "keywords long tail.") Also try to anticipate what the user will type in his search. "How to" is one of the most common search phrases people use in Google and YouTube to get answers quick.
2. Think of "tags" as keywords and enter them like you would the Meta keyword tag of a web page. Select only the most likely search terms people are using and keep the words in the order people use them. Don't just use random words separated by commas. Use full length search phrases exactly how people search for them. And don't go too crazy here. Excessive tags tend to confuse the YouTube engine. Incidentally, if you have "how to" as a tag, also add "howto" (without the space.) If "how to" returns a bunch of unrelated junk your "howto" tag can better cut to the chase in YouTube's search engine.
3. The description is where you have the most freedom. It's best to begin the description with your main keyword (and title) as close to the beginning as possible. Something like this works well... "Learn how to..." then follow up with several sentences rich in long tail keywords (the same ones from your tags.) Grammar is not the most important thing in the world but try to make it friendly for people who might read the description before they decide to watch the video. Also remember that Google uses a natural text algorithm that can spot unnatural keyword spamming a mile away.
Forget Expensive PPC Advertising - This is an alternative!
Just for Example: Search on Google: "how to throw a knife" (without quotes.) The top three matches include a YouTube video and Wiki entry. The future is Web 2.0! Welcome!

New Google experiment - ads with Images
Google is experimenting with display ads to be placed alongside Google Image results - the company announced via webcast. Google's search product management director R.J. Pittman announced new suite of image-related experiments and their plans for displaying ads with images. Pittman relayed the difficulty of contextually matching ads with images. With potentially trillions of images on the net, each with their own varied descriptions (or no description), sorting them is "a challenge."
As Pittman said - this technique will improve the image search interface and hinted at retooling Google's current image search by making it more people-like in its method than machine-like.
Google is working on more powerful facial recognition, soon to be available via advance search options. Facial recognition will improve the process of recognizing an image and making them easier to find.
"Because people use image search not only for pretty images, they're using it for recipes, travel destinations and gifts, etc, this is leading to a better connection between image search and e-commerce, as well as a better experience for visitors and advertisers", said Pittman in his announcement.
This new interface is still an experiment at this stage.

Transfer money from AlertPay to PayPal and vice versa
If you like to transfer your funds from PayPal to AlertPay and vice versa you will notice that transfer between those two accounts it is not possible on the usual way. PayPal don't support transfers to AlertPay and vice versa because, as you know, they are two competing companies. Recently I face this issue by myself. In my case, I need to transfer my funds from PayPal to AlertPay to purchase referrals on some PTC network which only support payments from AlertPay. I made a little research over the Internet and find three possible solutions for money transfer:
First solution:
First solution is very secure and you can manually do it by you own. You can easily withdraw you funds from PayPal to your bank and then send it to AlertPay.
Second solution:
If you haven't registered bank account to PayPal or AlertPay, and you can't use the first solution, you can use internet companies which offer their services to do that for you. I found two internet companies which make transaction of funds between those two payment processors.
First company is Move-funds.com. They have fee (7.9% + 20 cent) of each of your transfer but they do the job.
Second company is MyPayScript. I think this is more reliable company for your transfer and they have smaller fee (5%) (I use this solution for my money transfer).
Third solution
You can use e-Gold to transfer your funds. E-Gold is also payment processor like PayPal and AlertPay. You can use e-Gold exchange service to make transfer between PayPal and AlertPay and vice versa.
1. First create your account on e-Gold.
2. Withdrawing funds first from AlertPay to your E-gold account
3. Then Exchanging - E-Gold to PayPal - with an E-Gold Exchange Service
I used MyPayScript.com only ones for my money transfer. I never use move-funds.com. Now, after opening bank account I use only first solution as safest solution for my money transfers and it is my recommendation for you.
If anyone find another way/solution to transfer money from AlertPay to PayPal and vice versa please give me your tip as comment of this post.

TNX.net - new revolutionary text link advertising system
TNX.net is a new revolution system which automates the process of selling/buying links for the owners of websites/blogs and SEO companies. As you already know, the best way of getting better ranking for you website is to get lots of links pointing to you site. Webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages.
With help of TNX program you can get a lot of non-reciprocal links from thousands of relevant websites and free text link ads. The main advantage of the system for webmasters is that they can sell links on every page of their websites. Webmasters can choose their advertisers, placing only links that are relevant to every site page. In just few minutes you can get thousands of links from high quality internet resources.
The main advantage for advertisers is that TNX provides a cheap and effective way of getting a lot of non-reciprocal links from thousands of websites which are part of TNX program. Advertisers also have a full control of the link placement and are able to stop new links placement at any time.
TNX offers targeting by subject of website or category of website. TNX also offer targeting using the site region and Google PageRank on each page.
Other interesting notes on TNX.net:
- Links are not served on pages which are not trafficked, so publishers cannot charge for links on their sites for pages which are hidden and not served.
- TNX pushes publishers to serve ads in noticeable areas of the sites: "they are useful for the visitor and are not meant only for search bots"
- TNX says it does not know of a "single case when participation in our system would do any harm to any of our partners."
- Since currency is not used, TNX makes it easy to buy links on sites which are based in other countries, without dependency on Paypal or other checkout systems.
- TNX has over 25,000 different users (advertisers and publishers) with over 27 Million links in their system, with over 15,000 new links created by the hour on over 17 million different web pages.
- Links are purchased and maintained on a monthly basis, so you're essentially renting the link.
- SEO Consultants & Agencies get a discount.
Summary:
I think TNX is a great new perspective program for your text link ad needs and opportunities, offering open opportunities to both advertisers and webmasters.
You can join in to TNX or read more about HERE.

Kontera ContentLink and Kontera Hybrid
Kontera ContentLink is a link ad network which allows you to make money from advertising without giving up any advertising spots and places on you site. They have specific technology which reads your posts and turns some of the words into a link ad. Those links are double underline and after the visitor hover over the link, ad pops up. Then visitor click on the ad, publisher get money, advertiser get more visitors and potential customers. Kontera requires a site to have a minimum 500,000 page views per month before being accepted into the program.
Recently, Kontera launched new product called, Kontera Hybrid. This product works the same as normal Kontera link ad. New ad differs only on the content of the ad shown.
The original ad served from Kontera looks like the picture below:
As you can see, the content of the normal/original Kontera ad is purely the ad of the advertiser.
Take a look on Kontera Hybrid ad:
Kontera Hybrid ad is split in two sections. First section (left part of the ad) shows to the visitor - your website content (related content). In the second section (right part of the ad), you can see ad of the advertiser (Advertisement). Actually, Kontera Hybrid ad model, gives two choices to visitors: First - to stay in your website by offering the related pages; second - to check the advertiser site.
I think that Kontera Hybrid is better solution. Kontera Hybrid gives to the visitor chance to spend more time on the site and to increase number of page views.
I will just wait for Kontera to open the "Kontera Hybrid" solution to all publishers which use Kontera ContentLink ads (me for example), and I will immediately switch from original Kontera ads to Kontera Hybrid ads. In this moment, only Kontera choose websites that will run Kontera Hybrid ads.
If you need more info about Kontera Hybrid you can visit their site HERE.

Windows 7 without Blu-ray movies support out of the box
According to Microsoft, Windows 7 will not include Blu-ray movies support out of the box and Blu-ray support will be provided by PC makers or BRD drive producers. Windows Media Center has ability to play BD movies but only with additional extensions from BD software. But Windows 7 will have support for reading and burning BD data disks.
So the story from XP (without DVD support out of the box) is continued. Blu-ray playback under Windows 7 will require the installation of third party media software. By refusing to licence the Blu-ray playback decoder for Windows 7, Microsoft is pushing the costs onto PC makers who will generally obtaining Blu-ray licenses bundled with Blu-ray drives.
There are expectations for a licence price drop by 40 % soon, so the fees for the new licenses will be US$9.50 for a Blu-ray player and US$14 for a Blu-ray recorder. Making Blu-ray Disc will cost 11 US cents for read-only, 12 US cents for recordable discs and 15 US cents for rewritable discs.

Variant of Worm Koobface is Running Wild on The Facebook
Four new hoax applications on Facebook are attempting to trick members and get their usernames and passwords. Attackers also steal the identities of the friends, fans and brands that connect though the social-networking site.
New variant of worm called Koobface is running wild on the Facebook site installing malware on the computers of victims who click on a link to a fake YouTube video.
The Koobface worm is is very dangerous. When visiting malicious Web sites It can be dropped by other malware and downloaded unknowingly by a user. After executing malware it searches for cookies created by online social networks.
It transform the victim's computer into a zombie for malicious purposes. Koobface compose a message which contains a link to a Web site where a copy of the worm can be downloaded by unsuspecting friend and send it to the user's friends. The cycle repeats itself.
Michael Argast, a security analyst at Sophos said:
"I would expect to see more attacks on Facebook. As long as this is a successful propagation method, the bad guys will double down and invest more. They are entirely motivated by financial gain. If it pays, they'll continue to romp in your social playgrounds."
Argast also said that people can protect themselves by running up-to-date any of antivirus programs.
So, maybe it is cruel but, I will start to think that this can be another propaganda of antivirus companies to increase selling in this crisis times. But, maybe I am wrong. Who knows...

Is Safari Easy To Hack?
Charlie Miller, Security researcher (he won $10,000 for hacking into a MacBook Air via Safari in just two minutes), said that he thinks that Safari will be the first browser to fall at this year's Pwn2Own contest.
"It might be because I'm biased about the things I'm good at, but it's the easiest browser [to hack]," said Miller to Computerworld this week.
"Apple's products are really friendly to users, and Safari is designed to handle anything, including all kinds of file formats," said Miller. "With a lot of functionality comes the increased chance of bugs. The more complex software is, the less secure it is."
The Pwn2Own contest this year will pit hackers against a MacBook running Mac OS X with Safari and Firefox installed, as well as a Sony Vaio P running Windows 7 and IE8, Firefox, and Chrome installed.
To participate in the contest, you can choose either or both technologies and must generally prove successful code execution. A contestant may only win one prize per flaw (e.g. if he is able to pwn a browser and a mobile device using the same flaw, he has to choose one to go after).
For now, Firefox is on top, but everything is possible. [via]
